export to dvi (luatex) not working

I'm running LyX-2.3.3

I'm producing an IEEE conference paper (due 10/31).  I can view pdf
from LyX fine.  But if I try to produce dvi, using
export dvi(luatex), the result causes errors when run through dvipdfmx.

Output file removed.

I believe this is the method I've used before to submit to IEEE
(export to dvi, which produces dvi + eps figures), and that the result
I can verify by running dvipdfmx.

Any ideas?
