Merging single and double columns in ONE document

[A-Imam Al-Sammak]

Dear all
I am writing a scientific  book which has main body text (which is single
column) and end of chapter questions which are in double columns. How can I
merge them in one document with continuous page numbers? The book is
composed of 9 chapters, but I am attaching a small version of the two
documents to save storage.
