lyx 2.4.4 has a memory leak?

I observe here (LyX 2.4.4, but also before 2.4.3 on Ubuntu 24.04 with
QT 5.15) that indeed LyX tends to become slower and less responsive if
previews are on and the document contains previews.

If I have this lagging I disable embedded preview.
