When Installing LyX "No textclass is found" message popped when first launching it, how to solve?

Hello there Scott,
thanks for reaching out to help,
in the end I decided to uninstall everything (lyx and texlive) and
reinstall manually
this worked for me, so this problem isn't relevant anymore,
