When Installing LyX "No textclass is found" message popped when first launching it, how to solve?

To my understanding no lyx-files are involved here. He simply tries to start lyx.
On unix-like system I would check if lyx is searching the texlive data at the correct
installed paths (to find e.g. Latex2e etc)
The lyx-created file 'configure.log' may contain some hints, but I miss there the actual
searched/found paths.
