Sub-figures (images)

Dear Jürgen
Thank you very much. I am really grateful for your help which solved a
problem that I thought I would never be able to solve.

By the way, regarding your comments "50 linewidth%", it did not work for me
when I have more than one figure on the same line. I experimented with a
few options earlier and found for my special case using fixed height (at 6
cm) works perfectly. I am attaching my files outputs for your reference.

Thank you again for being soooo kind by even including a sample file and I
apologize for missing to include the images with my question.
