Reattaching Panes in Wayland

Hi Folks,

The issue with panes seems to be a Windows issue as well - but slightly different.

The default setup has Preview and Progress/Debug messages as a split in the lower third of the window (above toolbars). When you move one of them out of the dock into a separate pane and try to re-dock it, the only way is to have the panes as tabs in ONE region but never again a split view (two panes next to each other).

Bye,
Julian

It's very likely to be an issue with Wayland, possibly related to my distro.

I'm on Devuan 5 and just logged out from Wayland (KDE) into Xorg
(Xfce) and found that (de)activating two of the three panes was not possible anymore. See the screenshots attached.

Both screenshots were taken from inside Xfce. Creating the difference i.e. un/ticked was done by logging back into KDE.

After I deleted .lyx in Xfce everything went back to normal and attaching panes worked as it was intended. I have used LyX for 20+ years plus and have never ever had any issues with the panes until I moved to Wayland.

So the current workaround, seems to be not to detach panes.

I'm also copying the console output onWayland below (again, sorry I had inadervatingly replied directly to people rather than to the list).

Many thanks!
Andy

qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate() This plugin supports grabbing the mouse only for popup windows
