I can open the App with a double click on Intel and ARM 15.1.1.

I can open LyX documents with a double click (or 'open' in the Terminal)
on Intel and ARM 15.1.1.

I would perhaps mark a LyX file, and then hit CMD-I in the window that
opens you look for 'Open With' set it to LyX in the Pulldown and click
on the 'Change All' button.
