LyX 2.4.1 for Windows does not see its own layouts directory

Hi everyone

I’ve installed LyX 2.4.1 for Windows on a Windows 10 machine.

Right at the end of the installation process I obtain this message box:


Pressing any of the buttons: Reconfigure, Without LaTeX or Continue opens the LyX 
window, but when I want to start a new document by pressing CTRL-n the next message 
box appears:


 Clicking OK on the above one and going to Document>Settings…>Document Class shows 
this


so LyX really does not see the article layout file. But this layout is right there in the
C:\Program Files\LyX 2.4\Resources\layouts


And, of course, my MiKTeX installation is sound and kicking and it has the article.cls.

It seems to me there is something wrong with path settings in the executable.

Let me point out that I am a long time, experienced user of both LyX and LaTeX.

Anybody having the same problem?
