what you are trying to say.

I did not follow your 'best window manager / desktop environment 2023'
discussion, I just want to inform everyone interested that I have
tried launching LyX under FVWM and it started successfully, generated a
PDF file and exited with zero (->0<-) SIGSEGV signals.

I do this because OP have said that LyX does not work 'properly' under
FVWM, which I can not interpret in any other way than 'LyX crashed
under FVWM', which I am unable to reproduce.
