I am surprised that this is only an issue for you in LyX. LyX/Qt uses
the default operating system mouse pointers as far as I know. So, the
only way might be to change it for the whole operating system. Or you
change the background color of LyX work area (Tools > Settings > Look &
Feel > Colors).
