Top toolbar missing after switching from debian 10 to debian 11 (bullseye)

Hi Doc,

Using your suggestion, Lyx seems to work just fine.  Different from what I am used to.  I 
will use it this way and let you know if I run into problems.  Teaching an old dog some 
new tricks is problematic.
