Problem with lyx after updating OS

Hi,

I upgraded my OS from Fedora 35 to Fedora 36.  I had no problem with lyx 
when I was using Fedora 35.  I installed lyx from my Fedora 36 
repository which is lyx 2.3.6.1.

When I start lyx I can open one of the chapters from my book and an 
attempt to open another chapter causes lyx to freeze.  I have to kill 
the lyx process to quit lyx.

I did not back up the .lyx folder.

Is there a way to fix this?

This leads me to another related question.  If I write a book with a 
master and child document and want to give it to someone, what else 
besides the documents do I have to give them?
