Conversion failure for older format

Rudi,
  this should not ever happen, but bugs do happen.

Just as Paul said you can run lyx2lyx from the command line to see where the 
problem occurs and tell us here.

If you want you can send the file by private mail and I will look in to this 
issue directly.
