older lyx file will not open

Hi Ivan,
did you upgrade macOS and what was your previous version?
Most of the time users did an upgrade from macOS 12.3 or earlier. The upgrade process removes one crucial utility (python) from the system and replaces it by a new one which asks the users for download and install of the newer version. One has to notice it, interpret is and agree with.

To check for this you may open a Terminal session and type the command
python3 -V
Either you get a version info or you’ll be asked to download and install the real software. This is required to keep LyX working.
