Why can't I post to #lyx on freenode?

Hi all,

I tried to ask a question on #lyx on freenode, but no matter what I
tried to post, it gave an error of:

##unavailable :Cannot send to nick/channel

Apparently this is happening because freenode's #lyx group is invite
only. Could somebody please invite me to #lyx ? My freenode username is
stevelitt
