Looking in Tools -> Preferences -> Look and feel -> Colors I find only
options for everything within the document window, not the tabs.

This tab blanking had not been an issue prior to my upgrading from 2.3.6 to
2.3.6.1. I'd sure like to find why; it's distracting but not a fatal flaw.
