You use bookmarks in LyX. Tell me about it

JMarc,
I rarely use bookmarks, and when I do it is within a session (meaning I
do not expect them to survive closing the document and opening it at a
later date). I do not have any particular need for a visible marker.
Regarding the "anchor" for the bookmark, my preference would be to
anchor it to the nearest object (word, equation, inset, whatever the
cursor "belongs" to or is next to), with the understanding that editing
the anchor keeps the bookmark attached to it and deleting the anchor
attaches the bookmark to the immediately previous word, equation, inset
or whatever.
On a side note, I find it slightly disconcerting that clicking "Navigate
Back" in a document with no bookmarks and no recent edits opens the last
edited document and jumps to the last edit point. Jumping to the last
edit point in the current document, whenever that was made, would be
fine, but jumping to a different document is a tad disconcerting.
Cheers,
Paul
