I can reproduce superweird behaviour in many different scenarios when the text is selected.

Switching workspace will do, but also losing mouse focus while holding Alt key, sometimes just pressing
Alt makes the text disappear. I was even able to get CT-deleted text instead of plain deleted one
when randomly moving around screens.

For some reason the document must be read-only (on the few tests I tried).
