I have work-around in case you don't know it yet.
You can open the document, then File->New window and in the new window
View->Hidden->(file you want to see).

This way both windows have the same file concurrently open, you can tile
both windows any way you want and separete different splits in those
windows.

It's not as good as what you wished for, but better than nothing I guess..
