I didn’t check… but on OSX the contents of the LyX user directory is copied on first run of the next major release to the new location. So it should copy the pwl*.dict too. But the original idea was to copy the resources to allow parallel use of next version (e.g. to test it) and run the current (or the old one) version w/o conflicts. The personal dictionary file is version agnostic - perhaps it should be placed elsewhere instead.

To get the initial copy one may check the configure.py and remove the platform check for „darwin“ or add the Windows platform.
