If dvipng fails this does not necessarily mean that we have no dvi
file, I think. Trying legacy route might make sense here actually.
Also, we have eps files here (although corrupted ones).

What we probably should do (and I wonder why we don't do this anyway)
is to stop the process if latex in preview generation errors out.
