Regression in 2.4 - external rewrite causes buffer to be marked as modified

Hi,

can't remember whether this was intention but I find the new behaviour very unpleasant.

In 2.3 when file was externally changed we issued the alert but did not mark the buffer
as modified just because of that. Now we do and it is very confusing, because one is not
sure that he can just hit 'Reload' and need to run some diff again.
This is PITA for anyone doing regular syncing between different computers.

Anyone against moving back to the 2.3 behaviour?
