I recently joined the dark side also. Pavel put up some helpful notes
here that I followed:

  https://wiki.lyx.org/Tips/ColorSchemes

Basically, run qt5ct to make the setting (for "Color Scheme" I chose
"darker"), and then to make LyX (Qt) use those, settings, before you run
LyX, do:

  export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct

For example, you could put that in your ~/.profile (although I don't
know what is recommended).
