I did not forget about this, Scott. The compilation of documents with the package polyglossia asked for some missing LaTeX packages. I tried installing one in my TeXLive user tree; it then asked for another, and so on.
As my LaTeX distribution consists of OS packages that actually install TeXLive, and I do not want to mess it up, I having been looking up how to set up and manage a local tree and use it for testing with LyX.
I hope I can write back with some news soon.
