He is trying his best to think of LyX users. It is true that as much as
we try to think of the average LyX user, we are all biased towards our
own peculiarities but that shouldn't stop us from trying.

Daniel usually does post tickets. I think this was actually a good case
to message the list since it was a good one to get feed back from
multiple people.

I would call it "persistence" but I can understand that people might
feel harassed. I read Daniel's messages with an internal matter-of-fact
voice in my head and none of them seems aggressive. The point though is
that persistence, whether it's polite or informative or xyz, wears down
people's patience.

Daniel, I appreciate having you around and all the care you give to LyX.
I do think you should try hard to feel out when people do not want to
continue the conversation. In general, persisting doesn't usually lead
to the change you propose anyway, and just from observing the
conversations I can tell that people feel exhausted and that actually
makes them less interested in other proposals that actually would be
more likely to lead to a change. I know you are already trying to do
this, but perhaps decrease the threshold beyond which you move on to a
different topic.

Perhaps this is my fault. I remember mentioning to Daniel a while ago
that it's helpful to know what other applications do. It doesn't mean we
have to do what they do, but I do think it's helpful information.
