It seems that with luabidi (luatex/polyglossia), the \LRE needs to be
wrapped itself in a group. Otherwise text that follows the \LRE{} is
lost.

Can you confirm?

Attached a patch that fixes the issue for me.

(Probably a bug in luabidi, but this package is virtually unmaintained)
