I would try to avoid the creation of a new document class in 
copy_params. I am not sure why thei is needed. Or at least tell 
makeDocumentClass() to avoid messages (via some "quiet" boolean).

Or let the search BufferViews use directly the underlying document class 
from the document workarea. This may require to have a subclass of 
BufferView, I am not 100% sure about that.

I thin the recursion break is just a way to hide the issue.
