Same commands for different unicodes?

In unicodesymbols we find

0x025b "\\textepsilon"            "tipa" ...
0x03b5 "\\textepsilon"      "textgreek" ...

or

0x204e "\\textasteriskcentered"   "textcomp" ...
0x2217 "\\textasteriskcentered"   "textcomp" ...

Since we need mapping from latex to unicode while searching through latex-output,
it would be handy if we could have the mapping clear.
