lyx2lyx error not as informative when opening newer file

Thanks for trying to reproduce, Yuriy. My OS is Linux. I attach a file
where I incremented the format number. To reproduce, I open in LyX.

The LyX binary calls the python program lyx2lyx when the format is not
the same as the format of the LyX binary.

The error I'm discussing is the error message when opening directly from
LyX.
