You've overseen 'cd build' probably (while the real path 'build' is here
/BUILD/BUILDMint18/BuildLyxGitQt5.9.5local-Automakegcc8.4.0
and 'source' is /usr2/src/lyx/lyx-test

I am always running with full path, and my build directory is not inside the source dir.
(BTW, there is no 'configure' script in the build dir.)
But now, checking the source-path-value, I see that I was changing different source dir.
Works now, thanks for being patient
