To reproduce here:
1.) open new
2.) type some lowercase chars

I use zoom 110%
At different zoom level no traces, and even with zoom 110% not all chars are affected.
(And even affected chars may be not affected on second try!)
BTW, closing the paragraph (with <RETURN>) the traces are gone.
