Oops, I think I waas too fast to accept your changes in the first patch.
I see huge diff between the current Math Manual and the pre  a6b07608d8e9de state.

E.g. loss of  id='magicparlabel-XX' or  <span style='font-variant:small-caps;'> -> <span>

Can you comment?
