We don't have strict rule, but most of the code tends to get into 80 chars
and the reason is mostly historical.
Since Andre hides, is there actually someone who still wishes to keep this archaic limit?
There are parts of our code which clearly suffer from this limitation
(my favourite are qt connect two-liners ;)
