Yes, sure.

My GUI idea would look roughly as follows:

[x] Query local drive for citation content

Script: [Default | Custom] Options: [          ]

Search tokens: [%abbrvciteauthor% %year% %title%]

The checkbox would enable the script, the search tokens would determine
which fields (or even fix search terms) are passed to the script.

We'd need another rc \citation_search_pattern (with "$year $title" as
default), and InsetCitation::openCitation() would need to resolve the
%-flagged placeholders rather than using hardcoded author and year.

This does not strike me overly complicated, as we have access to all
the keys via BibTeXInfo.
