Why not the repositories? Unless very good reason, I always stick to the official (in my case debian) repositories.</p>

I steered Wolfgang to the PPA, which I use. To be honest, I switched
long enough ago that I no longer recall why, but I think it was
because Canonical was slow about adding new versions of TeXLive to
their repo.<br>
