Paul,

I must have. Yesterday I tried multiple times with \ldots and \textellipsis
and each refused to compile. This morning I made a MWE with both commands
and had no problems. Changed the real doc and it, too, works with both.

There must have been something stuck in the doc that was thrown off when I
killed the application so it is no longer present. Very strange.
