No, the LyX window size should have nothing to do with whether the log 
file is truncated. I was just saying that when you run the script in a 
shell, seeing truncated lines in the shell might be due to window size.

Speaking of shells, if you run /usr/share/lyx/configure.py in a 
terminal, are lines in the log file still truncated?
