I still see the crash. Let's first wait to see if others can reproduce.
Perhaps it's something strange on my system.

I pushed a small compilation fix at 94ccc79a. Feel free to squash this into another commit if you prefer.

I see some warnings:

The "check_layout" tests are failing (which from what I understand is
built from Layout::write()). I see a bunch of messages like the
following in the test log:

LyX: Unknown layout tag `DocBookItemWrapperMergeWithPrevious' [around line 35 of file  current token: 'DocBookItemWrapperMergeWithPrevious' context: '']
Could not read style Plain Layout.
